In improvisation, personal artistic growth can sometimes disappear behind the needs of the group. The opportunity to develop new skills and face personal challenges is often pushed aside for the collective good.
As professional improvisers, we tend to create “default systems”: choices, characters, and narrative patterns we already know well. They make us feel safe, and they usually work. But are we still truly improvising?
In this advanced workshop, we will focus on those default patterns, challenge them, and turn them into new creative possibilities. Through personalized feedback and hands-on coaching, we will expand your improvisational toolkit, helping you break through familiar habits and reach the next level in your artistic journey.
Daniel Malmqvist has been dipping his toes in most things impro related the last 17 years.
He worked at Gothenburg impro theatre for seven years, as an ensemble member, teacher, producer and artistic director. He is one of the founders of Improfest Gothenburg and has traveled around the world teaching and playing at several festivals. In addition to this, he's been involved in numerous duo projects and been coaching non-verbal communication in various corporate settings during the last 12 years.
Daniel is a certified drama teacher and
before impro he worked as an actor in scripted theatre and a teacher in educational drama.
Daniel is driven by the exploration of the slightly more vulnerable and dark side of impro. He loves to use the stage to give the audience an opportunity to be both entertained and moved.
