“Showstopper! The Improvised Musical” has been a rip-roaring success since the show started in 2008. It has had eleven sell-out years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, two West End runs, an Olivier award and a BBC Radio 4 series.
In the show, the audience meets a writer of musicals who is on a deadline – he needs their help. The audience shouts out suggestions of a setting, musical styles and the title of the show and they’re off!
The Showstopper team – cast and band – will then weave a brand new musical in front of the very eyes of the audience, complete with hilarious characters, fabulous dance routines, beautiful songs, epic story lines, all sprinkled with the pzazz of a Broadway show.
Every night is a premiere and we quite literally couldn’t do the show without you, so why not pop down and help us create the next hit musical?

Naked

The “Naked” project stems from an experimental theatrical study based on the **exasperation** of the actor’s work.
The actors are stripped of everything that normally contributes to staging: there are no costumes, no fourth wall, no scenography.
But Naked goes further.
Every evening, the actors will be naked with their own ability to create characters and stories, without any safety net.
On stage there is nothing but life.
The very essence of modern relationships, different each evening from the previous one, unique and unrepeatable every time.
The audience thus participates in a true epiphany: the actors, stripped bare with themselves, can do nothing but immerse themselves and live their characters without boundaries of identification; they simultaneously become actors, screenwriters, authors, directors.

Raw improvisation on a bed of… rice!
A “non-format format”, meaning a free-form improvisation where actors are completely free from schemes and structures, a show conceived by Areamista and joyfully performed for over ten years. A suggestion asked from the audience at the beginning of the show starts a chain of stories. Each improvisation can be inspired either by the initial suggestion or by something that happened in the previous story, giving actors maximum freedom of expression.

Comic surrealism, the extreme stream of consciousness of 3 brothers, who provoke each other, tease each other, form alliances, to enjoy the process rather than the result, which in the end are equivalent.
In LES BIFLES there is no direction or script, but just creative flow. They are always in that phase, free from narrative, letting out their purest and most childlike side.
